Abacá is a natural fiber derived from the abacá plant (a species of banana), also known as Manila hemp, native to the Philippines. It is a durable and easily renewable material used for the production of textiles, baskets, lampshades, and other items, thanks to its open and strong structure.
It is also used in the construction of beach umbrellas, often replacing rattan due to its durability. Its open and resilient structure makes it suitable for products that require good airflow, as well as thermal and acoustic insulation.
